Job summary

ReNEW Schools seeks a School Nurse Substitute to handle health care services for students under the Health Services Director. You will work 8 hours daily, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in a school setting.

The role requires an active Indiana LPN or RN license, related healthcare experience, and ability to manage immunization records, screenings, medication administration, and diabetes monitoring with good communication skills. This position supports student wellbeing across campuses.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana LPN/RN license.
• Related field experience is required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficient in standard office software (Word, Excel) and basic computer tasks.

Responsibilities

• Document and maintain student immunization records and required DOE reports.
• Coordinate hearing and vision screening for students.
• Provide information to parents as required by the DOE.
• Assist and observe students in the clinic.
• Administer prescribed medications.
• Monitor students with diabetes as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION: School Nurse Substitute

REPORTS TO: Health Services Director (RN)

HOURS OF WORK: 8 hours per day (7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform all duties relative to health care services for students as directed by the Health Services Director.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. 1. Document and record all student immunization records and provide all required reports to the DOE.
2. 2. Coordinate and provide hearing and vision screening for students.
3. 3. Oversee and provide information for parents as required by the DOE.
4. 4. Provide assistance for and observe students who report to the clinic.
5. 5. Administer medicine to students a prescribed by their doctor
6. 6. Monitor and assist students with diabetes
7. 7. All other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• EDUCATION/LICENSURE: Current Indiana LPN/RN license
• EXPERIENCE: Successful related job field work experience.
• REQUIRED PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to sit, stand, walk, ascend/descend stairs, use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk and hear. Lift up to 50 pounds.
• REQUIRED GENERAL SKILLS: Exceptional written and oral communication skills; ability to process tasks using internal software, internet and generally accepted office software such as word and excel formats and student management software.
