Job summary

Springfield City Schools in Columbus is seeking a Substitute Driver to help transport students and families across our district for the 2026-2027 school year. The role requires safety-conscious operation and reliable attendance.

Must be 21+, with at least five years of driving, a CDL with school bus endorsement or ability to obtain one, and a clean driving record. Training is provided and wage is $20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least five years of driving experience.
• CDL license with school bus endorsement or ability to obtain one.
• No more than four points on driving record in last three years.
• Operate vehicle in compliance with traffic safety laws and pupil transportation standards.
• Safely transport students to and from school and events per established routes.

Responsibilities

• Routes may include students with wheelchairs or language barriers.
• Routes will vary per district needs.
• Drive in various weather and traffic conditions.
• Some lifting may be required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
