Qualifications

• Must have at least a 12th-grade education and three years of licensed motor vehicle operator experience.
• Must know applicable driver rules, regulations, and laws for passenger vehicles.
• Must meet annual state physical examination requirements.
• Must pass drug and alcohol testing as required by law; clean driving record (no moving violations in past year and few in past two years).

Responsibilities

• Drives a school bus on assigned routes to transport students.
• Performs daily pre-trip inspections.
• Checks and maintains bus fluids and safety equipment.
• Maintains student discipline per district guidelines.
• Communicates with students, parents, staff, and administrators.
• Reports bus malfunctions to supervisor or mechanic.
• Operates warning and hazard lights; uses two-way radio.
• Completes required forms and participates in trainings.
• Assists in emergency procedures and evacuations as needed.
