Job summary

Aceleo Learning is seeking a Substitute Preschool Teacher to cover a Head Start classroom (ages 3–4) across multiple locations in the county. The role collaborates with one other teacher to support 14–20 children, following the scheduled curriculum and ensuring a safe, engaging learning environment.

The position relies on positive guidance to support social-emotional development and family involvement, with schedule adherence and participation in required trainings and meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
• Must be able to work at multiple locations across the county

Responsibilities

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during the time of coverage.
• Plans and implements learning experiences that advance literacy, language, and numeracy readiness.
• Establishes and maintains a safe, healthy learning environment with proper supervision of children.
• Supports social and emotional development using positive guidance approaches.
• Interacts with children in a supportive and age-appropriate manner.
• Encourages family involvement and supports relationships between children and their families.
• Works effectively with another teacher in the assigned classroom and center.
• Follows all policies and procedures related to health, safety, nutrition, and center operations.
• Ensures on-time reporting to work and communicates scheduling changes to the Center Director and Early Learning/Disabilities Specialist.
• Participates in meetings, events, and training as required.

The Substitute Teacher will work collaboratively with one other teacher to ensure the successful operation of a classroom with a total of 14 to 20 children.
