Job summary

AHRC New York City is seeking a passionate SubJob Coach to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as part of our Employment Services Program. The role focuses on training, evaluation, and counseling across jobs at independent businesses and through AHRC contracts.

The position is ideal for college students or those attending school, offering flexible part-time hours (10-20 per week). Work at least two weekdays plus weekends, in the Bronx, at $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including effective writing and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of 5-6 clients, primarily in the field (90% of time spent at job sites).
• Teach, assist, and support new workers in their jobs using techniques such as demonstration of tasks, modeling, counseling, observation, and discussion.
• Provide training and support to workers with disabilities, ensuring their success in their roles.
• Travel to route new workers from home to job sites.
• Write detailed service notes after each session to monitor client progress and outcomes.

AHRC NYC is seeking a passionate SubJob Coach to join our Employment Services Program, dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving meaningful employment. The Job Coach is the central figure in the success of our workers, providing training, evaluation, and counseling across a wide variety of jobs at independent businesses and through contracts AHRC holds with various entities.
This role is ideal for college students or individuals attending school who are looking for flexible part-time work. Candidates should be available to work at least two weekdays and weekends to provide the flexibility needed for site assignments and visits.

Location: Bronx

Job Type: Part-time, 10-20 hours per week, (must be available at least 2 weekdays + weekends)

Payrate: $20/hour

Qualifications

• One year experience working with individuals with disabilitiespreferred.
• Flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual. May include early morning, evening and/or weekend hours.
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience preferred
• Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including effective writing and oral communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED.
