Job summary

AHRC New York City is seeking a Full-Time Job Coach for the Brooklyn Employment Business Services (EBS) program. The coach supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, primarily at job sites, and gradually transitions to independence as proficiency grows.

Key duties include on-site coaching, travel assistance when needed, and detailed documentation of progress. Strong communication and mentoring skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Flexibility in work hours to meet scheduling needs.
  • Teaching or mentoring experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
  • Excellent customer service and client-facing experience.
  • Strong documentation skills for case notes and progress reports.

Responsibilities

  • Teach, assist, and support new workers in their jobs using demonstrations, modeling, counseling, observation, and discussion.
  • Provide training and support to workers with disabilities to ensure job success.
  • Assist new workers with travel from home to job sites when needed.
  • Write detailed service notes after each session to monitor client progress and outcomes.
  • Manage a caseload of about 10–15 clients, primarily at job sites.

AHRC NYC is looking to hire multipleFull-Time Job Coaches for our Brooklyn Employment Business Services (EBS) program. The job Coach must be dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in achieving meaningful employment. The job coach initially spends the majority of the time with the individuals on the job site and then gradually fades as they become proficient at the job.

Compensation Package:

  • $18/hour – High School Diploma or GED
  • $19/hour – Associate Degree
  • $20/hour – Bachelor's Degree
  • $21/hour – Master's Degree

Plus a generous and comprehensive benefits package, including FREE medical insurance. See benefit information below. In addition, travel expenses are reimbursed.

Available Schedules: 40 hours per week

  • Monday–Friday, 1pm–10pm
  • Monday–Friday, 9am–8pm, with occasional weekend hours (40 hours per week within that time frame)

    • Flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual

    • Strong case note writing and documentation skills
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
