Job summary

Lake Dallas Independent School District is seeking a Substitute School Nurse (RN/LVN) to support students’ health needs and minimize absences due to illness. The nurse will work under the Principal/Substitute Coordinator and assigned campus, providing health room services, medications administration, and health counseling.

Starting immediately, the role pays $90 to $150 per day as a substitute nurse. This part-time position requires Texas RN/LVN licensure, CPR/AED, and the ability to work with

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care services to medically fragile students as assigned.
• Administer medications from physicians' orders.
• Maintain medication records and reports.
• Communicate with medical, nursing, and district personnel.
• Manage and provide health room services, including first aid and CPR, according to established procedures.
• Provide guidance and counseling in the area of health to students, staff, and parents according to professional standards.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Primary Purpose

A substitute school nurse (RN/LVN) assists in providing the fullest possible educational opportunity for students by minimizing absence due to illness and creating a climate of health and well-being in the schools.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor's RN, Associate RN, or LVN
• TX Nurse Certification
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
• Automated External Defibrillators (AED) Certification

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to work well with children
• Ability to communicate effectively

Experience: Some experience working with children is preferable.
