College of Lake County is seeking a qualified Substitute Lead Teacher for the Children's Learning Center Lakeshore Campus. The role supports developmental activities and guides children’s growth under supervision of the Center Director or Coordinator.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree with at least 18 credit hours in early childhood education, and offers a flexible up-to-19-hours-per-week schedule. The role is part-time staff with paid time off dependent on scheduled hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 18 credit hours in early childhood education.
• Early childhood work experience and education preferred.

Responsabilités

• Develops classroom arrangement for children’s safe, calm, comfortable and successful participation with program equipment and materials in consultation with the Center Coordinator.
• Develops consistent schedule of daily and weekly program activities in consultation with the Center Director.
• Maintains journal containing examples of children’s program participation and growth process in social, intellectual, emotional and physical areas.
• Assists in the supervision of Children’s Learning Center Attendants and student workers as assigned.
• Prepares reports, attends meetings and/or enacts plans to help class and center staff improve teaching skills and increase understanding of children’s development.
• Assists in enrollment and orientation of parents and their children as assigned.
• Oversees housekeeping procedures within classroom and in common center areas as assigned.
• Monitors Health Department sanitation procedures.

Formation

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Development OR a related field with at least eighteen (18) hours of credit in early childhood education
