Job summary

The Arc Montgomery County seeks a Substitute Group Aide to support the after-school program under supervision of the Program Administrator. Responsibilities include helping implement daily activities and ensuring childcare plans are followed, with paperwork and supplies management.

Ideal candidates are at least 16 years old with some childcare experience and must complete a pre-employment medical exam and TB test.

Salary Range: $18.00 To $18.00 Annually

Under the supervision of the Program Administrator the Substitute Group Aide is responsible for assisting in the implementation of the after-school program.

WORK PERFORMED

• Assist in planning, preparing and implementing daily activities.
• Assist in assuring individual childcare plans are being followed adequately. Confer with Program Coordinator immediately if concerns arise pertaining to a child’s condition or needs.
• Assist in completion of necessary paperwork.
• Assist in food preparation, serving and clean-up.
• Clean indoor and outdoor equipment and supplies regularly; assist program participants in Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
• Assist with program wherever else necessary as indicated by the Program Coordinator.
• Attend staff meetings, parent/staff conferences and any other training meetings deemed necessary by the Program
• Perform other duties as assigned by Division Director or Designee

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must have some experience working with children.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to lift and or carry up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing, frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling and pushing
