POSITION: Temporary Custodian
Number of Work Days: As Assigned by the Director of Building Facilities
SALARY: As Set by the Board of School Trustees
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Head Custodian & Director of Building Facilities
EVALUATED BY: Director of Building Facilities
To perform custodial tasks as assigned by the Facilities Director.
Other duties may be assigned. The following are general tasks which may be expected of a temporary custodian. The Facilities Director will assign specific cleaning areas and cleaning tasks.

The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community. The ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head or forward, and climb on ladders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. including cleaning supplies and unloading trucks. Occasionally, the employee will lift and/or move up to 90 lbs. including salt and bulk furniture. The employee must also be able to push/pull bleachers, tables, and scrubbing machines.

While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly work indoors and outdoors. The employee will work near or with mechanical equipment. The employee may occasionally work with toxic or caustic chemicals such as petroleum products, degreasers, and sprays. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with time constraints.
