The Custodial Department of MSD of Decatur Township is looking to hire students interested in the Environmental Services Industry to support our custodial teams.

Your role will include assisting the teams in keeping classrooms and buildings clean and disinfected.

Join our team to help us maintain a clean and safe environment for students and prepare them for tomorrow.

Pay Range

Starting wage: $12.00 per hour

Work after school or during free periods/lunch

Open Positions

Part-time student custodians will work from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM or 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Positions available at all school locations

Responsibilities and Duties

Cleaning and disinfecting classrooms, offices, restrooms, and athletic areas.

Maintaining equipment and stocking custodial closets

Reporting equipment malfunctions to supervisor

Collaborating with supervisor to ensure a safe and sanitary school environment

Performing other duties as assigned by the leadership team

Qualifications

Current MSD of Decatur Township student or homeschooled student within ages 14-18

Providing 3 letters of recommendation from teachers and administrators (required)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with students, parents, staff, and agencies

Providing transportation to and from work

Organized and detail-oriented

Ability to take direction from leadership and work well in a team

Ability to work independently

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods

Lift 25-50 lbs

Carry 25 lbs

Read laws, codes, rules, policies, and other printed materials

Hear and understand speech at normal levels

Communicate clearly

Reach in all directions
