The Longview School District is hiring a Substitute Custodian

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Schedule: Variable

Pay: $23.57 per hour

Closing: December 27th 2025

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds and place on a table 4 feet off the ground.
  • Must be physically able to perform the essential job functions.
  • Able to read, with understanding, hazardous chemical warning labels.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of the tasks assigned.
  • Prior successful custodial experience preferred.

Essential Job Functions

  • Working knowledge of industrial cleaning materials, equipment, and appropriate cleaning practices.
  • Keep the building neat and clean.
  • Clean and sanitize sinks, drinking fountains, and toilets.
  • Dry mop, wet mop, and machine scrub hard surface floors.
  • Vacuum, spot clean and hot water extract carpets.
  • Operate wet/dry vacuum; empty wet/dry vacuum canister
  • Wash windows, walls, and furniture.
  • Dust flat surfaces.
  • Clean light fixtures and air vents.
  • Empty and wash wastebaskets.
  • Empty garbage cans.
  • Secure building as directed by Building Maintenance Person.
  • Report building and equipment maintenance repairs to Building Maintenance Person.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a record of punctuality, dependability, and consistent attendance.
