This position is 8.00 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Shifts are primarily night shifts, but could fluctuate to day if necessary.

The long-term substitute position will start ASAP and will last approximately six (6) weeks, with the possibility to extend.

The position description is subject to change by the employer as the needs of the employer and the requirements of the job change. Hours could fluctuate between day shift and night shift.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains assigned equipment in a safe working order, cleaned and serviced properly. Storage spaces shall remain clean and orderly.
• Inventories supplies and maintains same in a secure place with ample notification given if being depleted.
• Works in clothing that is clean and appropriate for public appearance.
• Models and maintains exemplary punctuality and attendance.
• Performs (as assigned) general custodial and maintenance duties including but not limited to:
• • Floor care: sweeping, washing, stripping, waxing.
  • Carpet care: vacuuming, spotting and extracting.
  • Window washing and graffiti removal.
  • Changing lights and cleaning fixtures.
  • Cleaning walls, desks, lockers, counter tops, etc.
  • Waste disposal.
  • Picking up garbage in parking lots, ground and play fields.
  • Sweeping sidewalks, snow/ice removal.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to work with and around adults and students.
• Ability to do heavy manual labor.
• Possess a Washington State driver's license.
• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.

Physical Demands:

Indulge in sustained physical activities relative to assigned duties; do standing type of work for a six-hour period; climb ladders up to 20 feet; operate mechanical lift to heights of up to 60 feet; lift and carry up to 60 pounds; operate vacuum cleaner, buffer, and other assigned equipment for a minimum of two continuous hours; exposed to noise from power equipment; may require periodically working outdoors in inclement weather; may need to take precautions to avoid exposure to student bodily fluids; move furniture, equipment, supplies or tools; operate motorized equipment; clean and repaint various exterior or interior surfaces; wash towels and other items related to school functions; pick up and deliver school district mail, supplies, material or equipment; complete various reports as directed and perform related duties as assigned/required.
