Job Description
Parker School is seeking a responsible, caring adult interested in working with middle and high school students.
As an hourly substitute, you will be called on an “as needed” basis based on your availability. Every effort is made to schedule your work days in advance although requests often occur on the day help is needed. Hours of employment are generally between 8:30am and 3:30pm but vary depending on the specific assignment aligned to your availability.
- Reports to the main office upon arrival to receive class plans and attendance lists
- Reviews and implements lesson plans for assigned students. Follows classroom and program schedules during the school day. Provides an accurate reporting of student progress at the end of the day
- Supervises students at all times in accordance with policies for student health and safety
- Assumes responsibility for overseeing student behavior in classroom, hallways, and during lunch. Clearly defines expectations and limits, and encourages student self-discipline
- Maintains a professional, confidential, and ethical relationship with supervisors, colleagues, and students at all times
- Follows established procedures and policies, and federal and state regulations in all matters of employment
- Performs related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to recognize the individuality and uniqueness of each student and treat him/her with respect and dignity
- Ability to engage intellectually and physically in all components of the educational process
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, and students
If hired, CORI and fingerprinting will be required prior to your first day of work.
