Job summary

Parker School is seeking a responsible, caring adult to work with middle and high school students as an hourly substitute. You will be called on an “as needed” basis based on your availability, with most days 8:30am–3:30pm.

Responsibilities include receiving class plans, following schedules, supervising students, and reporting progress. CORI and fingerprinting are required prior to first day of work.

Qualifications

• Ability to recognize the individuality and uniqueness of each student and treat him/her with respect and dignity
• Ability to engage intellectually and physically in all components of the educational process
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, and students

Responsibilities

• Reports to the main office upon arrival to receive class plans and attendance lists
• Reviews and implements lesson plans for assigned students. Follows classroom and program schedules during the school day. Provides an accurate reporting of student progress at the end of the day
• Supervises students at all times in accordance with policies for student health and safety
• Assumes responsibility for overseeing student behavior in classroom, hallways, and during lunch. Clearly defines expectations and limits, and encourages student self-discipline
• Maintains a professional, confidential, and ethical relationship with supervisors, colleagues, and students at all times
• Follows established procedures and policies, and federal and state regulations in all matters of employment
• Performs related duties as assigned
