Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking a Construction Manager (Substation & Transmission) for a near-Abilene, TX project. This 1-year W-2 contract role leads field construction activities, ensuring safe, on-time completion while coordinating with contractors and internal teams.

The CM will balance 20% office duties with 80% field oversight, manage quality and safety, and ensure adherence to drawings, schedules, and regulatory requirements. Per diem is available.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of drawings.
• Knowledge of safety/environmental requirements.
• Proficiency with Computers and standard software.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Construction preparation, safety planning, and team training.
• Project location/site assessment and brownfield vs greenfield analysis.
• Define structures, equipment, and systems; review drawings/specs.
• Maintain schedule, track milestones, and escalate delays.
• Manage materials, verify BOMs, track shortages and damages.
• Enforce HASP and lead daily safety meetings.
• Field oversight, QA, walkdowns, and progress documentation.
• Submit weekly reports and trackers; manage team reporting.
• Track variances, review invoices, identify cost drivers.
• Ensure contract compliance and address non-conformances.
• Coordinate with PM, contractors, and SME teams.
