Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Substation Testing Coordinator to coordinate and oversee contracted testing and technical services for transmission and distribution substation projects. This role supports safety, reliability, and seamless project execution across related teams.

The position requires a BSEE or equivalent experience, strong teamwork, and proficiency with MS Office. It offers on-site work at FE locations and opportunities to contribute to CIP programs and asset management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related technical field.
• In lieu of a degree, 3 years of experience in utility, commercial or industrial construction.
• Experience in electrical substation construction and/or maintenance.
• Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal skills to resolve compliance issues.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee contracted testing and technical service for transmission and distribution substation projects.
• Plan testing schedules and confirm resource needs to ensure staffing levels.
• Ensure safety, quality, and adherence to FirstEnergy specifications.
• Inspect contractor work against design and construction standards.
• Document testing records and ensure reports are uploaded to the systems of record.
• Support CIP program and substation asset requirements.
