Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking a System Protection Technician in the System Protection Development Program in Virginia. You will participate in installation, maintenance, and corrective actions for protection and control equipment and OT systems at field facilities.

You'll work with senior technicians to gain hands-on experience, learn to interpret design packages, and develop competencies to perform tasks with increasing independence while complying with safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or Advanced Post Secondary diploma by December 2026 in electrical/electronic disciplines.
• US military veterans with required total years of experience may substitute for education.
• Knowledge of substation equipment and protection components.

Responsibilities

• Assist installation and commissioning of protection and control equipment.
• Verify protection asset functionality and station alarms.
• Participate in acceptance testing of voltage and current sensing devices.
• Maintain protection systems and perform troubleshooting with senior staff.
• Complete compliance paperwork and protect documentation.
