Job summary
Dominion Energy is seeking an on-site Senior Protection Technician to lead installation, maintenance and commissioning of protection relays, SCADA, and OT systems across transmission and distribution facilities. You will interpret complex engineering designs, oversee field crews, and ensure compliance with engineering standards while coordinating multiple projects.
Requirements include 5+ years of related experience and completion of the Electric Transmission System Protection Technician
Qualifications
- 5+ years directly related experience.
- Graduates of the Electric Transmission System Protection Technician Development Program.
- Knowledge of commissioning and maintenance practices for protection and control.
- Experience with protection relays, substations, and SCADA interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Review, correct and mark up protection and control packages.
- Develop electrical clearance boundaries and human performance zones.
- Coordinate on-site construction and manpower across multiple projects.
- Interface with other business units and third-party POCs.
- Perform acceptance testing and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
- Verify alarms, telemetry, and front-end communications are functional.
- Provide technical support to the Data Communications Team.
