Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Structural Engineer Intern (Substation) for the East Region. The internship provides hands-on experience across diverse projects, from design to documentation, in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.

Chosen candidates will be located in Raleigh, NC; Ann Arbor, MI; or Orlando, FL, and will work full-time in-office. No prior experience required; current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program is preferred, with at least one design course.

Qualifications

• No experience required; current enrollment in ABET accredited Civil Engineering program with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Preference in coursework is at least 1 design course.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected).

Responsibilities

• Support development of design specifications and contract drawings
• Perform variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs
• Prepare basic calculations
• Analyze systems utilizing computer modeling
• Organize and file project materials and references
