Job summary

Black & Veatch invites you to join as a Summer Intern in Substation engineering, gaining hands-on experience with electrical deliverables, analyses, and project coordination across multiple disciplines. You will be assigned to a functional area in Substation and work under mentorship to contribute to real projects that support critical infrastructure development and reliability.

No prior experience is required; current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering program is expected,

Qualifications

• Relevant coursework or knowledge in Power Systems, Motors, Transformers, Renewable Energy, Power Delivery, or Three Phase Power Calculations.
• Understanding of engineering design principles and design guides.
• Problem-solving skills, effective written communication, and the ability to build relationships.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of electrical engineering deliverables like reports, drawings, specifications, and studies.
• Assist with the engineering analyses, designs, and report production.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and schedule project deliverables.
• Organize and evaluate data, utilizing computer modeling to analyze systems.
• Organize project materials, references, and documentation.
