Job summary

Entergy Texas, Inc.-GTX in Beaumont, TX is seeking a Utility Foreman - Relay to supervise and perform installations, maintenance, and testing of substation protective systems and SCADA systems. The foreman will supervise emergency restoration activities and serve as a professional point of contact for contractors and customers.

This role requires availability for callouts and extended hours. Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent (2-year technical degree preferred),

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or related work experience.
• 5+ years' experience in electric utility industry.
• 5-10 years' experience in electrical substation maintenance or construction preferred.
• Must be certified and able to perform substation switching.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC Card and a CDL driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform all aspects of installation and maintenance of substation protective systems.
• Supervise and perform all aspects of installation and maintenance of substation SCADA systems.
• Supervise and organize emergency activities associated with the restoration of relay and/or substation equipment.
• Provide field training to relay crews on protective devices, schemes and philosophies.
• Assist crews in performing relay and SCADA testing and commissioning.
• Provide a professional point of contact for contractors, internal/external customers, and design groups.
