Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Team Leader – Relay/SCADA to guide a skilled team in relay testing, maintenance, and substation readiness. You will ensure safe, efficient scheduling, verify packages, and coordinate across field crews and engineering.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and scheduling abilities, with experience leading field technicians and knowledge of substation ops. This is a hands-on leadership position within AES’s power operations.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Substation Operations and Maintenance practices.
• Demonstrated leadership or coordination experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience leading field technicians.
• Experience scheduling crews.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team performing relay testing, primary relay testing, RTU maintenance, wiring construction, fiber maintenance/testing and in-servicing duties of new relays and substations.
• Ensure technicians are scheduled efficiently and job packages are prepared in advance.
• Communicate between field crews, internal departments and management.
• Coordinate outages, commissioning and job dependencies as needed.
• Verify availability of tools, materials, relays, wiring components, RTUs and test equipment.
• Coordinate with engineering and project teams to validate readiness.
