Job summary

ISG is seeking a Substation Project Manager in Columbus, OH to lead complex substation projects that power communities across the nation. You will guide multi-phase work from concept to commissioning, managing scope, schedule, and budget while partnering with clients.

Established in 1973, ISG emphasizes employee ownership and collaboration across offices; strong leadership and technical expertise will drive project success and reliability of essential systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 12+ years of experience in substation engineering, design, or consulting environments.
• PE license preferred (state-specific licensure or ability to obtain).
• Valid driver’s license required, with the ability to travel as needed.
• Proficiency with engineering design tools and CAD systems.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and NESC codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of high-complexity substation projects across scopes and phases.
• Oversee scope development, cost estimating, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Serve as primary client contact, translating goals into actionable plans.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across electrical, civil, and structural engineers.
• Contribute to proposals, fee development, and resource allocation.
• Ensure QA/QC processes and technical design reviews.
