Job summary

ISG—I & S Group, Inc. in Bloomington, MN—seeks a Substation Project Manager to lead complex substation projects from concept through commissioning, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing scope, schedule, and budget.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Electrical Engineering, 12+ years of relevant experience, PE preferred, a valid driver's license, and strong communication and leadership skills to drive project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 12+ years of substation engineering, design, or consulting experience required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (state license or ability to obtain).
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel as needed.
• Proficiency with engineering design tools and CAD systems.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with NEC and NESC codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-complexity substation projects including greenfield substations and upgrades.
• Own full project lifecycle: scope, cost estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and QA/QC.
• Serve as primary client contact and translate goals into actionable plans.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across electrical, civil, and structural engineering.
• Contribute to proposals, fee development, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety protocols.
