Job summary

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) seeks a Substation Project Engineer to design new, upgraded, and expanded substations in Nebraska. You will support procurement, construction, and energization, while coordinating with multiple discipline groups to deliver best-in-class projects.

The role requires a BS/MS in Electrical Engineering and 6+ years of project/design experience with strong communication and organizational skills; PE license preferred; occasional travel required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities; ability to work in a team.
• Commitment to quality and accuracy; ability to meet fast-paced schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of substations, including material procurement and commissioning support.
• Coordinate with PM and design staff; mentor engineers, designers and drafters; ensure QA and technical standards.
• Collaborate with cross-discipline groups (Protection, Civil, SCADA, Environment, ROW, PM/Controls).
• Travel as required to project sites and client locations; support business development for Nebraska office.
