Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Substation Project Engineer for our Lake Oswego, OR office. You will join the Power & Energy Substation Team and contribute to design, analysis, and construction for utilities, industrial, and commercial projects.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to lead and mentor junior engineers. Key duties include developing layouts, performing electrical calculations, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring safety and compliance across multi-site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for large capital projects.
• Engineering Intern, Engineer in Training, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with Operations and project controls for reporting and proposal development.
• Proficient knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and permitting.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance for due diligence, design, development, and construction of substations and related systems.
• Develop electrical calculations for loads, equipment sizing, grounding, short circuit studies, protective device coordination, and one-line diagrams.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates; update electrical infrastructure layout plans.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations to explain research, findings, and recommendations.
• Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients to ensure compliance and quality.
