Job summary

WSP USA in Lake Oswego, Oregon is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join the Pacific Civil/Structural Substation team. You will assist in local technical design for electrical substations, foundations, structures, and control buildings, contributing to safe, compliant, and efficient designs.

The role offers hybrid work options and an opportunity to grow within a large global engineering firm while supporting project teams and clients with clear documentation and engineering analysis.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSCE degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 0–1 year of post-education engineering experience.
• Knowledge of structural analysis, steel and concrete design, soil mechanics, and foundation design.
• Strong written and oral communication for engineering and non-engineering audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide local technical assistance for electrical substation structural design.
• Design foundations, structures, rigid bus, and control buildings.
• Prepare calculation packages to meet client, code, and WSP requirements.
• Coordinate with disciplines contributing to electrical substation design.
• Ensure plans meet client and WSP standards.
• Generate documentation using drawings, 2D/3D illustrations, and site notebooks/logs.
