Job summary

VELCO seeks a capable Project Manager to lead capital projects for Vermont's electrical transmission system. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and interface with regulators, stakeholders, and the public.

The role supports Associate, Mid-Career, or Senior levels with opportunities to mentor others and influence strategic initiatives. Strong communication and budgeting skills are essential in this mission-driven utility environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in relevant field with 2–4 years PM experience for Associate level.
• Bachelor degree with 2–4 years PM, project controls or related field for Mid-Career level.
• Bachelor degree with 7+ years PM experience; PMP/PE preferred for Senior level.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning sessions.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to meet project goals.
• Manage project progress and adapt plans as required.
• Manage project costs according to budgets.
• Develop bidding documents including RFIs/RFPs and evaluations.
• Develop, sign off and oversee contracts for materials and services.
• Develop annual capital budgets and quarterly forecasts for assigned projects.
• Provide testimony during VT Certificate of Public Good proceedings.
