Job summary

Michels Power, Inc. is seeking a Preconstruction Project Manager for substations to lead the preconstruction phase across utility, transmission, and renewable projects.

You will coordinate between business development, estimating, engineering, procurement, contracts, controls, operations, and field leadership to ensure proper evaluation, budgeting, scheduling, permitting, and mobilization readiness. Your role spans bid reviews, estimate handoffs, contract execution, and startup readiness,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in PM, CM, engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in preconstruction, PM, estimating, engineering, procurement, or construction.
• Experience supporting utility substation, transmission, renewables, or EPC projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• PE or PMP preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction planning including scope, budget, scheduling, procurement, and risk.
• Coordinate handoffs among BD, estimating, engineering, procurement, contracts, operations, and field leadership.
• Conduct readiness and kickoff meetings and reviews.
• Support contract review and commercial terms alignment.
• Coordinate permitting, subcontracting, and mobilization activities.
• Ensure smooth transition from preconstruction to operations.
