Job summary

HDR is hiring an experienced Physical Substation Engineer to join our growing Power Delivery team in Florida. The role is based in Orlando with options for Tampa or Miami, focusing on technical execution and client-backed project delivery.

You will lead engineering deliverables, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to assure safe, reliable substations that meet client objectives and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• PE or P.Eng license is required or active in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in substations or power delivery.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical aspects and deliverables for substation projects.
• Produce and review one-line diagrams, general arrangements, and drawings.
• Provide asset management reviews, risk assessments and BOMs.
• Lead technical reviews and mentor junior engineers/designers.
• Coordinate quality control reviews with team members.
• Support business development and client engagement efforts.
• Track project scope, schedule, and budget performance.
• Develop technical papers or presentations for industry forums.
• Build strong client relationships in Florida and region.
• Travel as needed to support projects and clients.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
