Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a substation designer for a hybrid role with three days in the office and two remote days. You will collaborate with engineers to develop high voltage substation designs, producing General Arrangement drawings, electrical plans, sections, and detailed bills of materials.

Applicants should have at least six years in substation design, proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation, and familiarity with Bentley Substation Design.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in drafting or engineering technology, or a high school diploma with 3+ years drafting coursework or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 years of substation physical design experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Familiar with Bentley Substation Design and 3D visualization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and designers on high and extra high voltage substation design deliverables, including GA, Electrical Plans, sections, BOMs, grounding, and layouts.
• Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design outputs.
• Conduct walkdowns at client substation facilities.
