Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking a Substation P&C Engineering Associate I to join our Knoxville-area team.

The ideal candidate has a BSEE (or equivalent) and will learn protection and control design for medium and high voltage substations, including modern microprocessor relay protection concepts and related equipment. Learning will be closely coupled with using AutoCAD to complete protection and control designs for utilities across the southeastern United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent.
• Willingness to learn protection and control design for substations.
• EIT/FE exam completed or pursued preferred.
• Willing to relocate to Knoxville, TN area.

Responsibilities

• Learn protection and control design for medium/high voltage substations.
• Use AutoCAD to prepare protection & control designs.
• Gain exposure to SCADA, remote control systems, and fiberoptic communications.
• Travel to utility sites across the southeastern United States for inspections and meetings.
