Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an experienced O&M Substation Specialist to provide technical support for substation O&M programs and emergency field responses. The role emphasizes maintenance planning, estimation, and coordination with project managers to ensure safe, compliant operations.

You will support electrical and control system-related activities, including testing, calibration, and troubleshooting across substations and related energy storage projects, with travel to multiple locations as

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
9–12 years of experience in Substations and Distribution Systems Operations & Maintenance.
Experience estimating commissioning and maintenance activities.
Competent in equipment troubleshooting.
Protection and control systems and SCADA.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support and oversight to substation maintenance activities.
Develop maintenance schedules and estimates for substations and other technologies as able.
Provide emergency onsite field support and work oversight for substation and distribution systems repairs and remediation.
Act as the substation technical lead for the Substation Operation and Maintenance.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Oversee estimating of substation maintenance activities, and BOP activities, including maintenance schedule development, execution strategy, labor, equipment, materials.
