Job summary

PSEG Long Island is seeking a Distribution Supervisor in Substation Maintenance to oversee daily operations, troubleshoot, and construct substations. You will manage union field technicians and ensure projects meet safety and reliability standards.

The role requires a High School Diploma with 5 years of related experience, supervisory skills, and the ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams. SAP knowledge is a plus in a dynamic, onsite environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; 5 years’ experience in maintenance, repair and troubleshooting electrical equipment.
• Supervisory experience preferable in union or trade environments.
• Interpreting engineering designs and modifying designs to meet operating needs.
• Ability to read and interpret schematic and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Analyze substation design and propose cost-effective alternatives.
• Lead and motivate bargaining unit personnel for maintenance and construction activities.
• Manage projects to stay within budget constraints.
• Collaborate with organizations to ensure project completion; develop solutions for material shortages.
• Maintain technical competence in electrical equipment maintenance and substation construction.
