Job summary

Consolidated Edison Company of New York is seeking a Supervisor to oversee maintenance, construction, and operation of substation equipment, ensuring safe practices and regulatory compliance. You will mentor a team, manage daily work plans, coordinate with Electric Operations, Transmission Operations, and Central Engineering, and uphold a Zero Accident culture while achieving operational excellence.

Responsibilities include delivering OJT, safety briefings, and using Maximo/Engage OSS for work

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of related operations experience required, or equivalent education/experience.
Associate's degree with 4 years related experience required.
High school diploma with 5+ years in operations, maintenance, or construction of power systems required.

Responsibilities

Conduct on-the-job training (OJT), effective job briefings and documented job site safety exchanges.
Supervise mechanics, inspectors, operators in safe performance of maintenance, construction, repair, inspection, and operational activities on substations.
Plan, organize, schedule, and assign personnel to perform work based on project schedules and needs; optimize productivity.
Ensure work complies with procedures, OSHA, safety rules, and environmental regulations.
Mentor and develop personnel; ensure compliance with company policies and EH&S standards.
Coach on performance, provide OJT, briefings, JSSE, and enforce housekeeping in work areas.
Enforce contractual and local work rules and assign personnel per weekly schedules and station plans.
Interface with Con Edison departments (Electric Operations, Transmission Operations, Central Engineering).
Attend daily management meetings to report progress and submit Work Permit Requests clearly.
Work with Field Planners and Central Planning to improve work plans and provide feedback.
Order and coordinate materials, supplies, and equipment; ensure availability and timely delivery.
Foster Zero Accident Culture, embrace Diversity and Inclusion, strive for Operational Excellence, and enhance customer experience.
Ensure proper usage of tools, personnel, and materials; apply Human Performance Improvement in daily activities.
Perform other related tasks as required; utilize Engage, Maximo, Datasplice, etc.
