Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a Substation Helper 1 to assist journeymen in the planning, layout, installation, testing and repair of substation components.

This full-time role requires adherence to applicable plans, codes and industry standards and active participation in safety programs. You will work with skilled professionals on critical infrastructure projects, performing conduit installation, wiring, and equipment assembly while maintaining a safe work environment and learning

Qualifications

• Experience working on substations or as an electrician or helper.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to complete pre-employment checks.
• Ability to read and follow plans, specifications, and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeyman with installation, testing and repair of substation components.
• Use hand and power tools to install conduits, cables, and equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in pre-job safety briefings.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and report hazards.
