Ampirical Solutions LLC is seeking a Civil Engineer in Sacramento to lead foundation and substation foundation design, perform advanced calculations, and develop complete design packages. You will mentor junior engineers, interface with clients and vendors, and contribute to field activities with limited oversight.

The role requires a ABET-accredited civil engineering degree and 3+ years in foundation/structural work, with proficiency in L-Pile, RISA, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and related tools.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 3+ years of foundation or structural engineering experience; 2 additional years accepted in lieu of FE certification.
• Proficiency in foundation and structural analysis software (L‑Pile, RISA, Autodesk Inventor, etc.).
• Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and interpretation of soil boring data.
• Experience designing foundations for utility, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of ASCE, ACI, AISC, and AASHTO standards.
• Ability to develop detailed foundation plans and calculation packages with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or Civil 3D; Bentley MicroStation or Bentley Substation a plus.

Aufgaben

• Prepare scopes of work, estimates, and technical documentation for foundation engineering on substation projects.
• Identify appropriate foundation types based on geotechnical conditions and loading requirements.
• Perform advanced foundation engineering calculations and analyses.
• Develop foundation plans, sections, reinforcement details, and calculation packages.
• Interface with internal teams, clients, and vendors to communicate solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers on foundation engineering principles and software tools.
• Provide moderate field support including review of excavations and reinforcement placement.
