Job summary

EDM International, Inc. is seeking a Substation Inspector/Observer to oversee on-site construction activities and verify compliance with project drawings and specifications.

The role involves daily field inspections, reporting, and coordination with contractors in a dynamic environment. The position requires hands-on substation experience, proficiency with Procore and ArcGIS, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Five years minimum working knowledge of Substation facilities and foundations.
• Experience with substation construction and inspection preferred.
• Journeyman Lineman experience preferred.
• Knowledge of drawings, specifications, and conformance requirements.
• Proficiency with Procore and basic MS Office tasks.
• Familiarity with field mobile apps (ArcGIS, Field Maps) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe testing requirements for drilled piers, foundations, and substation work.
• Communicate clearly with contractors and team members.
• Create and maintain daily inspection reports.
• Review discrepancies with responsible parties.
• Maintain contract documents, permits, and drawings.
• Promote safety and initiate corrective action when needed.
