Job summary

EDP Renewables North America is seeking an Electrical-Medium Voltage Inspector to oversee construction activities for substations and transmission systems, ensuring schedule and quality targets are met. This position requires an established background in electrical construction and compliance with NEC and safety standards.

The role includes daily oversight, coordination with contractors, reporting, and participation in code-change seminars.

Qualifications

• Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program or equivalent with seven years of related experience and journeyman’s card.
• Experience supervising crews and electrical jobs (5+ years).
• Thorough knowledge of NEC and local codes, high-voltage safety, electrical theory, and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily oversight and inspections of construction including substations, underground/overhead collection systems, and transmission lines.
• Maintain effective communication with project personnel, general contractors, and subcontractors.
• Prepare daily reports outlining progress and ensure work aligns with documents and specifications.
• Review contractor schedules and assist project team in meeting objectives.
• Attend seminars on code changes and participate in additional duties as required.
