Job summary

Power System Engineering (PSE) is seeking a Substation Engineer to lead substation design projects, gain experience in technical engineering, project management, and client collaboration. Based out of Arden Hills, MN, remote arrangements are considered for the right candidate.

The role requires PE license or ability to obtain, 5+ years in substations, and strong knowledge of protection & control systems and NEC/IEEE standards. Competitive compensation and robust benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• PE license or ability to obtain.
• 5+ years of experience in transmission, distribution, or substation engineering.
• Knowledge of substation design, protection & control systems, and utility operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation engineering projects including brownfield design, physical design, and protection & control systems.
• Develop engineering designs and drawings (one-line/three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, AC/DC schematics).
• Provide technical consulting across substation design, system support, and utility operations.
• Manage projects from design through construction, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
• Conduct site visits for inspections, construction oversight, and quality assurance.
