Onward Search is assisting a reputable electrical infrastructure firm in finding a P.E. Senior Substation Engineer to lead high-voltage substation projects across the United States.

This hybrid/remote role requires residence within commuting distance of designated cities and emphasizes strong leadership and client engagement. The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of electrical power experience, a PE license, and deep knowledge of 138kV+ systems, with proficiency in relevant design software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required; ability to obtain additional state licensure if necessary.
• At least 15 years of experience in electrical power engineering, with a focus on high-voltage substations.
• Extensive knowledge of 138kV and above electrical systems, protection, and control.
• Proficiency in engineering software tools, strong leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and review of civil, structural, and electrical designs for high-voltage substations and transmission projects.
• Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Conduct engineering calculations such as grounding, relay coordination, and structural analysis.
• Utilize specialized engineering software for design, analysis, and drafting tasks.
• Oversee project scope, schedule, and budget while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and engaging with clients and vendors.
