WSP USA is offering a full‑time Electrical Engineering (Substation) Intern position in Mount Laurel, NJ as part of the Summer Internship Program. The 12‑week program starts May 17, 2027, for students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.

You will work with the Power and Energy team, gaining exposure to real projects, mentorship, and hands‑on experience in substation design, standards compliance, and professional development.

Formación

• Actively enrolled in an Electrical Engineering undergraduate program with an anticipated August 2027 graduation or later.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Demonstrated interest in electrical engineering, consulting engineering, or the electric utility industry.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
• Proven ability to uphold workplace safety and adhere to policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.

Responsabilidades

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
• Work closely with experienced engineers on all aspects of utility substation design.
• Participate in detailed design tasks for substations (one-line diagrams, relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, etc.).
• Perform design calculations following IEEE, NEC, NESC, and industry standards.
• Assist senior engineers with QA/QC design checks.
• Support design engineers with protection/control design for substations.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
