Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern for Substation work in the Central Region. The Summer Intern role offers hands-on experience across engineering deliverables, analyses, and cross-disciplinary collaboration on a variety of substations projects.

You'll be assigned to a functional area in Substation, gaining exposure to mentorship, labs and real-world project scheduling. This internship aligns with ABET-accredited EE programs and emphasizes safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Relevant coursework or knowledge in Power Systems, Motors, Transformers, Renewable Energy, Power Delivery, or Three Phase Power Calculations.
• Understanding of engineering design principles and design guides.
• Problem-solving skills, effective written communication, and the ability to build relationships.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of electrical engineering deliverables like reports, drawings, specifications, and studies
• Assist with the engineering analyses, designs, and report production
• Collaborate with other disciplines and schedule project deliverables
• Organize and evaluate data, utilizing computer modeling to analyze systems
• Organize project materials, references, and documentation
