Job summary

M&S Engineering, LLC seeks a qualified Substation Electrical Engineer at our Spring Branch, Texas location to perform engineering and design duties applying engineering principles to substation projects.

Duties include detailed design from 4kV to 345kV, relaying and protection design, and creating design documents and BOMs. Travel and independent/team work required; EIT Texas license preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with Power emphasis preferred.
• EIT license in TX or ability to obtain within 12 months (preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel and work with cross-functional teams.
• Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proficient with AutoCAD or MicroStation and MS Office.
• Self-starter and able to work independently or in a team.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

M&S Engineering, LLC seeks a qualified Substation Electrical Engineer at our Spring Branch, Texas location to perform engineering and design duties which require application of engineering principles and knowledge of substation design.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Detail engineering and design of substation projects from conceptual design through construction from 4kV to 345kV
• Detail relaying, protection, and controls engineering and design
• Create/modify design documents and drawings for a project, including specifications, technical reports to support design as required by permitting agencies, and generating bills of material
• Effectively communicate and coordinate project activities with manager, clients, and others as needed
• Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure that schedules and budgets are met
• Take on a project engineer and/or project manager role as required

Requirements

• 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering (emphasis in Power is preferred)
  • Master’s degree for this position is HIGHLY UNDESIRED
• Current EIT License in the State of Texas or ability to obtain the license within 12 months of hire (preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements
• Ability to travel
• Take personal responsibility and ownership for the quality and accuracy of work product
• Proficiency using AutoCAD or MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite
• Self-starter
• Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects
• Work independently or in a team environment
• Must be able to routinely lift up to 30lbs
