Job summary

M&S Engineering, LLC in Spring Branch, Texas is seeking a Civil Engineer for our Substation Division to perform engineering and design duties applying civil site development and small slab and pier foundation design. You will detail site engineering, prepare design documents, coordinate with managers and clients, and assist with project scopes, schedules, and budgets.

This full-time role requires a 4-year Civil Engineering degree, 3 years substations experience, and capability to travel.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (Site Development emphasis).
• Minimum of 3 years post-graduation substation design experience.
• Texas EIT license or ability to obtain within 12 months (preferred).
• Texas PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months (preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Detail civil site engineering and design.
• Create/modify design documents and drawings, specs, and reports for permitting.
• Coordinate project activities with manager, clients, and team members.

M&S Engineering, LLC seeks a qualified Civil Engineer to work in our Substation Division at our Spring Branch, Texas location to perform engineering and design duties which require application of engineering principles and knowledge of the civil site development process and small slab and pier foundation design.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Detail civil site engineering and design
• Create/modify design documents and drawings for a project, including specifications, technical reports to support design as required by permitting agencies, and generating bills of material
• Effectively communicate and coordinate project activities with manager, clients, and others as needed
• Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure that schedules and budgets are met
• Take on a project engineer and/or project manager role as required

Requirements

• 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering (emphasis in Site Development)
• Minimum of 3 years applicable post-graduation substation design experience
• Current EIT License in the State of Texas or ability to obtain the license within 12 months of hire (preferred)
• Current PE License in the State of Texas or ability to obtain the license within 12 months of hire (preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements
• Ability to travel
• Take personal responsibility and ownership for the quality and accuracy of work product
• Proficiency using AutoCAD or MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite
• Self-starter
• Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects
• Work independently or in a team environment
• Must be able to routinely lift up to 30lbs
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
