Job summary

WSP is seeking a Substation Electrical Drafting Coordinator in Lakewood, CO. The role supports our Power & Energy team with drafting and design tasks, delivering plans, profiles, and material lists for substations and power facilities.

You will collaborate with engineers and project teams to resolve design questions and ensure compliance with codes and standards. The position requires a minimum of 3 years drafting experience, proficiency in 2D/3D CADD software, and strong written and verbal

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant post-education experience in drafting and design support.
• Familiar with drafting and design support principles, practices, process, methods and techniques.
• Familiar with relevant codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
• Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design and CADD support on projects to produce designs and specifications.
• Prepare design deliverables including plans, profiles, sections, details, material lists, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with verifying calculations, interpreting contract plans, and identifying design issues for escalation.
• Ensure drawings adhere to city, state, and federal codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Collaborate with project teams to support project execution.
