Job summary

WSP is seeking a Substation Electrical Drafting Coordinator in Lakewood, CO to join our Power & Energy team. You will provide technical design and CADD support on projects to produce drawings, plans, sections, details, and material lists for substation energy facilities.

Under supervision, you’ll work with engineers to resolve design questions, apply codes and standards, and help deliver design deliverables.

Qualifications

High School Diploma is required.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant post-education drafting/design experience.
Familiar with drafting and design support principles and techniques.
Familiar with codes, regulations, and record-keeping requirements.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Clear communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
Capable of independent and team-based work with attention to detail.
Proficient with office software and basic math concepts.
Commitment to workplace safety and company policies.
Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Provide technical design and CADD support on projects for substations.
Generate drawings and design deliverables including plans, profiles, sections, and details.
Collaborate with engineers to resolve design questions and incorporate markups.
Prepare material lists and supporting documentation.
Ensure designs comply with city, state, and federal codes and project specs.
Support data collection from surveys and sketches for drafting efforts.
Assist with verification of calculations and interpreting contract plans.
