Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation Coordinator in Seattle to conduct electrical design analyses, prepare cost estimates, and support project engineers across diverse substation projects. You will contribute to small projects or assist on larger initiatives while leveraging AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, and Power software.

A Bachelor’s in Electrical/Architectural Eng with an Electrical emphasis is required, with EIT preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with Electrical emphasis or related field.
  • EIT license preferred; without it, may be termed Substation Coordinator and must pursue EIT for career progression.
  • Previous internship experience beneficial and encouraged.
  • Desire to pursue registration and growth within employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analyses to develop electrical design options or cost estimates and assist in preparing specifications.
  • Perform routine electrical engineering assignments with guidance from Project Engineer/Manager.
  • Work on projects with clear objectives and limited variables.
  • Contribute to small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineers, other Electrical EITs or Technicians as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

  • Work on projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
  • Work on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
  • Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Electrical EITs or Technicians as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
  • EIT license preferred. Candidates who don’t have EIT license will be called a Substation Coordinator and expected to obtain EIT for career progression.
  • Previous internship experience beneficial
  • Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power
  • Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
