Job summary

Toth and Associates, Inc. is seeking an in-office Substation Designer to support electric utility substation projects.

You will develop physical layouts, verify equipment spacing and clearances, and coordinate with engineers, CAD technicians, and project teams to produce safe, reliable, and constructible design packages. The role requires creating detailed 2D CAD drawings, reviewing vendor drawings, and preparing design documentation and equipment schedules.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in drafting, design technology, engineering technology, CAD, or related field required with 4+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field with 2+ years of relevant experience acceptable

Responsibilities

• Develop physical layouts and detailed designs for substations, expansions, upgrades, and replacements.
• Create and maintain accurate 2D CAD drawings and design details with assistance from the CAD Department.
• Review equipment and vendor drawings to incorporate dimensions and connection requirements.
• Prepare design documentation and equipment schedules; participate in design reviews and project coordination meetings.
